This 1975 BMW 2002 was acquired by its current owner in 1984, and it is powered by a rebuilt 2.0-liter M10 inline-four paired with a four-speed manual transmission. Refinished in Amazon Green, the car rides on 14″ BBS wheels and is further equipped with a sunroof, power-assisted front disc brakes, front Recaro seats trimmed in tan cloth, an Alpine head unit, a Personal steering wheel, and VDO instruments. Work since 2023 included changing the fluids and replacing the battery, fuel hoses, and rear muffler hangers. This 2002 is now offered by the seller with service records, spare parts, a car cover, and a clean California title in the current owner’s name.
Finished from the factory in Amazon Green (076), the body was disassembled before being repainted in July 1995. A repair was performed on the right rear quarter panel in 2015. Details include a sunroof, US-specification bumpers, a left-side mirror, pop-out rear windows, and polished trim.
Silver-finished 14″ BBS alloy wheels are wrapped in 195/60 Kumho Ecsta LX Platinum tires showing 2008 date codes. Braking is provided by power-assisted front discs and rear drums. The brake fluid was flushed in October 2023. An invoice in the gallery below shows that the rear CV joint is cracked and that the right tie rod is worn.
The cabin has been outfitted with Recaro SE front seats trimmed in tan cloth, and color-matching material extends to the rear bench seat. An Alpine head unit, carpeted floor mats, aftermarket speakers, and a trunk-mounted battery are further elements.
The four-spoke Personal steering wheel frames VDO instrumentation that includes a 120-mph speedometer, an 8k-rpm tachometer, and gauges for coolant temperature and fuel level. The five-digit odometer shows 21k miles and is said to have rolled over twice. Approximately 115k miles have been added under current ownership.
The 2.0-liter M10 inline-four was rebuilt by Phaedrus of San Francisco, California, in September 1994. The cylinder head gasket was replaced in 2012, and work since 2023 involved changing the fluids and replacing the battery and fuel hoses. An oil leak is noted.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual transmission and a replacement differential that was installed in May 2008. The muffler hangers were replaced in 2023, and a service invoice in the gallery below indicates that the guibo and transmission mounts are worn.
A collection of service records will be included in the sale along with a Stahl exhaust header and a car cover.
