This 1966 Mercedes-Benz 230SL is powered by a retrofitted 2.8-liter inline-six paired with a four-speed manual transmission and is finished in Orient Red over beige leather upholstery. Equipment includes a brown convertible top, a removable body-color hardtop, 14″ steel wheels with painted covers, power steering, and power-assisted front disc brakes. The selling dealer purchased the car in Idaho and relocated it to Oregon in 2025. It is now offered by the selling dealer with a clean Oregon title.
The W113 SL was designed by Friedrich Geiger, Béla Barényi, and Paul Bracq. This example was repainted in the factory Orient Red (501) under prior ownership. Exterior features include a brown soft top, a removable body-color hardtop, a retractable antenna, a driver-side mirror, US-specification headlights, and chrome bumpers. The seller notes thin spots in the paint and areas of paint touch-up.
The 14″ steel wheels feature covers with painted centers and are mounted with 205/75 whitewall tires. The car is equipped with power steering, and braking is provided by power-assisted front disc and rear drum brakes.
The cabin houses bucket seats that have been reupholstered in Beige leather, which extends to the door panels. Interior appointments include an AM/FM radio, an analog clock, a floor-mounted gear shifter, and a heater. An under-dash push-button has been added for cold starts.
The two-spoke steering wheel features a chrome horn ring and frames a 140-mph speedometer and a 6,500-rpm redline tachometer, as well as gauges for fuel level, oil pressure, and coolant temperature. The five-digit odometer shows approximately 65k miles, about 50 of which have been added by the selling dealer.
The factory 2.3-liter engine was replaced by a 2.8-liter inline-six at some point under previous ownership.
Power is routed to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual transmission.
