This 1972 Chevrolet Monte Carlo underwent a refurbishment in 2016 that included refinishing the exterior in blue and installing a replacement 350ci V8 backed by a rebuilt three-speed Turbo Hydramatic automatic transmission and a limited-slip differential. Additional equipment includes a black vinyl roof, Edelbrock aluminum cylinder heads, long-tube headers, a custom dual exhaust system, power steering, power-assisted front disc brakes, 15″ American Racing wheels, bench seating, and air conditioning. This Monte Carlo was recently acquired by the selling dealer following noted history in Pennsylvania and is now offered with a Pennsylvania title.
The car was delivered from the factory in Mulsanne Blue (26) and was resprayed in 2016. Exterior details include a black vinyl roof, dual side mirrors, dual exhaust outlets, and chrome bumpers and trim.
The 15″ American Racing wheels are mounted with BFGoodrich Radial T/A tires. The car is equipped with power steering, and stopping is provided by power-assisted front discs and rear drums.
The cabin features front and rear bench seats upholstered in black cloth and vinyl, along with a color-coordinated dashboard, door panels, and carpets. Interior equipment includes a locking glovebox, air conditioning, and front headrests and shoulder belts. The AM/FM radio is not working.
The two-spoke steering wheel frames a 120-mph speedometer, an analog clock, and a fuel-level gauge. A dual-gauge pod has been mounted under the dash and houses auxiliary readouts from Stewart Warner. The five-digit odometer shows 60k miles.
The replacement 350ci V8 is said to have been installed in 2016 and features an Edelbrock air cleaner, aluminum intake manifold, and aluminum cylinder heads, an aftermarket camshaft, an electronic ignition system, and Chevrolet-script valve covers.
The three-speed Turbo Hydramatic automatic transmission is said to have been rebuilt and modified with an aftermarket shift kit, and it is connected to a rear axle that has been fitted with a limited-slip differential with 3.70:1 gearing. The custom dual exhaust system features long-tube headers and flows through an X-pipe.
