This 1967 Mercury Cougar XR-7 was acquired by its current owner in 2016 and subsequently refurbished. It is powered by a 289ci Cougar V8 paired with a three-speed automatic transmission and is finished in Polar White over black upholstery. Equipment includes a black vinyl roof, 14″ styled-steel wheels, a tilt column, power steering, a retro-look radio, and a center console. This Cougar XR-7 is now offered by the seller in Washington on behalf of its owner with a clean Montana title.
The car is finished in Polar White, and it was repainted as part of the refurbishment work. The black vinyl top was also replaced, and the car has concealed headlights and sequential rear turn signals.
The 14″ styled-steel wheels are mounted with older white-stripe tires. Stopping is provided by power-assisted drums at each corner, and the car is equipped with a front sway bar.
The interior was redone and has black upholstery on the bucket seats, color-coordinated carpeting, woodgrain trim, and a retro-look radio. The floor pans have been patched.
The steering wheel is mounted on a tilt column and frames a 120-mph speedometer and auxiliary gauges. The five-digit odometer shows 8k miles but is not accurate, and approximately 2k miles were added under current ownership. Total mileage is unknown.
The 289ci Cougar V8 was rebuilt as part of the work, and it is topped by an Edelbrock Performer intake manifold and a QFT carburetor. MSD ignition and an aluminum radiator were also installed. The air-conditioning system components have been removed.
Power is routed to the rear wheels through a three-speed automatic transmission.
